Labadie, Cecilia Descomps dit (b. 16 JAN 1786, d. JAN 1838)
Note: Border Cities Star, Dec 10, 1932 states: "She married Augustine Lagrave in 1803 and they built a hotel on the Walkerville Riverfront where all went well until the War of 1812-14 got underway. Then when Proctor retreated towards Chatham, accompanied by all the men in the community, Madame Lagrave stood on her doorstep and watched the approach of the pursuing Americans. Madame Legrave wasn't sure how the invaders would treat her and the remaining inhabitants and she decided to waste no time finding out. Armed with an improvised flag of truce, she went out to meet the invading army, drew the general to one side, and demanded protection. She got it."
